Obscure lyrics…FTW!
Its been a little over a month since the last post here, and you know what that means?
No! Not time to play the Lotto again. You guys get another update. (I feel your joy. Really, I do.)
So, let’s see what’s happened since I last posted…
Let’s see I came back to school. That was fun. The Seahawks went to the Super Bowl and lost (not as fun, frankly it sucked. No, I don’t want to talk about it, because I’ve for the most part put it behind me, but I’m still kind of mad. Does that make sense?)
My parents came to visit. As you may know from previous entries to the old site…when the parentals come to town it means one thing: Lots o’ free food. The pattern held.
They saw their first SIU basketball game, an experience I’m guessing has to rival the birth of their children and grand children in terms of excitingness. I mean, it was against Creighton….As for me, I got to sit in the student section for the first time. Its kind of weird, I’ve gone to how many games and have never sat in the student section. Weird.
I’ve started volunteering at WSIU-TV (class requirement) and don’t really like it. Those tv people are stressed out of their minds. I’ve had three stories go on air. I’d like to point out that I’m not scared of tv or something stupid like that. I happen to like radio better, am pretty good at it, and do sort of work down there. Not that any of my criticts read the site, but saying I don’t work hard because I’m in radio is sort of like saying I have no soul because I prefer Quizno’s over Subway.
(Like the randomness of this? I do. BTW: its 3:20 in the am)
For those of you wondering why I haven’t posted here a lot, its because I’ve been posting elsewhere. I started another site called Caffeinated Sports. Basically, I started it to write about Seattle sports. Please check it out and please leave feedback. Thanks.
Sunrise Sports is also back in production. Its going well.
As for my classes…well…we’ll discuss them later. We had to take a survey in my RT 393 program about the department. One of the questions was “Which RT class has been intelllectualy challenging…” I got a good chuckle out of that one. If you think I’m selling my major short, keep in mind that in that same class, we just watched the movie “Quiz Show”
I’ll give a break down of my classes in a later post. Let’s just say that they make me want to go to Australia more. Maybe for a challenge, maybe just to take a pseudo-break from school.
I think that’s about it for now. Hope you enjoyed this update on how I’m still alive. If you were ever truly worried, I apologize for the stress I caused you.
Hello out there, we’re on the air, it’s hockey night tonight,
Alan
(if anyone knows where I can download that song, please tell me. iTunes doesn’t even have it. What song is it? You know the drill…fake cookie to the winner!)
You can download it from my hard drive. Just put your disk in and you can have whatever you want!
Quite frankly I miss all the links to the cool pictures.
Since you have abandoned the Normal Alan blog for the Sports Alan, and since your sports blog is all about Seattle sports, I demand (as a Seattle fan and an Alan fan) that you delve into the Seattle Ultimate Frisbee scene. Seattle is a hotbed of collegiate and masters teams who consistently do well and basically show everyone that we can kick ass, drink coffee, wear wool socks with cleats (not just sandals), drive Subaru’s, and play frisbee on frozen turf. You have you mission…now go.
