Posting to post…part 2

Again, nothing to report. Today was a sick day, so that’s…um…not fun? I’m feeling slightly better now.

I’m really bored. There’s no classes, and work is basically the same thing. Report baseball scores…hope Floyd Landis continues digging a hole for himself and I can report on that. I sort of miss doing the show.

On the other hand, because of summer school, I’m not looking forward to class, or the show, and it doesn’t seem like football season should be coming yet. I’ve barely had time to read my preview mags and make my always correct picks (ask Nick).

Since I have nothing to talk about, I’m going to launch into a rant about why I hate Dick Pound.

Now that you’re done laughing about his name, Pound is the head of the World Anti-Doping Agency, and he is anti-athlete. Pound is the guy that yells “Test him!” after every home run, thinks all touchdowns are the result of juicing, and would probably acusse th World Cow Tipping Federation of supplying its competitors with steroids.

He’s the kid in fifth grade that thinks all the smart kids cheat on tests, because if he doesn’t have the answers, nobody does.

Dick Pound has a disdain for all athletes everywhere. He famously claimed thaat half of the NHL was on steroids, basing the claim off of no proof. He was laughed at by Gary Bettman, and if Gary Betman can laugh at how you’re doing your job, you might want to post your resume on Monster.

The head of the WADA should be pro-athlete. He should not incite a worldwide witch hunt after every accomplishment. Sports can show us amazing things, and athletes should be able to once and awhile show us the impossible. Why can’t Pound appreciate athletes?

The WADA should not just be trying to catch athletes. It should try to prevent their use all together by talking with high school and college athletes. If the WADA does this, its head doesn’t do a good job of protraying it.

Instead, he focuses on villifying athletes better than sportswriters and spouts off unfounded claims that leagues are dirtier than the mob. All of which makes his organization laughable at best, and doesn’t give off the impression that they’re doing anything to combat steroid use.

end rant.

I haven’t learned anything of note the past few days, so my new favorite feature (which I stole from DJ Gallo, btw) is on hiatus.

Now, its time to read the Sporting News, and get excited for football season.

Traffic lights keeping time,

Alan
