My to-do list

I’m putting this here so I’ll look at it when I get onto the Internet.

~Clean room. Boy, wouldn’t it be nice to sit in my recliner?
~Talk to adviser about Australia, only thing left on that project.
~Wash truck
~Take bike to repair shop
~Prepare for college football picks
~Do the dishes/take out garbage. You know, because I’m the only one in the house that knows how to do such things.
~Wait for next 18 weeks to go by.

Things I’ve learned since the last post
~It is totally acceptable to select a wine because there is a kangaroo on the bottle.

~Losing bets on purpose…some good CAN come out of it.

~I love sleeping in. I forgot how great it is. But no morning cast the last two days. Oh, joy!

~Brookisde’s laundymat…convineient or haunted? Either way, not using it again. It has failed in drying my clothes to many times.

Reader challenge:

Do you read my blog? You already have a lot of time on your hands, then. So, I’m going to try something new, called the Reader’s Challenge.

The first one to answer this correctly gets bonus points and I will call awesome.

Whyis Thor’s hammer called, and why is it short handled?

Know thine mythology,

Alan

Mjolnir…and…something to do with the blacksmith not being able to make it long enough…I think.

I think Thor kept it short so he could continue to complain about getting the short end of the stick. And if he’s lonely enough to name his hammer perhaps the guy needs to get out a bit more often.

Very nice observation, but I believe the makers of the hammer named it for him. Perhaps they need to get out more often.

And no, he did not like to complain about getting the short end of the stick (except when he was once tricked by a giant. He got mad over that one.)

Keep trying readers, its a fun answer.

You’re probably thinking of how it would return to him like a boomerang. But I’m not sure that it is short for that reason, perhaps just coincidentally.

It returned to him because of magic, if I recall. There isn’t a whole lot of magic involved in why the handle is so short. (Other than it being a myth)

    Hammer is named Mjolnir.

It’s short, because it is one handed and it ended up that way, because Loki (disguised as a fly), bit Brokk on the eyelid so that he couldn’t blow on the fire.

The things a person does to win a bet!

If I can recall correctly…. like.. the makers of the hammer got distracted from making the hammer for a moment, so they left the fan that was fueling air to the fire away, and it cooled too quickly, thus a short hammer. Is that

    Try again.

    Short trees in Norway?

    Forget Norway… Kenya!
