Obscure lyrics…FTW!
Quick side note…due to internet problems my football picks did not get posted. I went 3-1 on the week, the only wrong game being that other team posting a win over the Baby Blue Bruins.
So, I went down to Atlanta over the weekend, making two weekends in a row in which I have gotten out of the Dale. I enjoy getting out of the town because 1) Carbondale’s lame and 2) see #1.
I went to go help my sister move. She bought a nice little house in Atlanta, and so the eight mile move was on. Since Pam worked while I was down there I did a lot of stuff on my own. Packing boxes, moving them, and the such. I am grateful she did not have to move to the third floor of an apartment building, as thats where she is moving from. Going up and down those stairs was not fun.
So, we got Pam mostly moved, and the next day it was onto pill packing! Pam’s going to Nicaragua, a country whose name I probably mispelled, for a week long mission trip in October. They’re bringing medicine to the people down there, so I helped pack pills. Again, Pam was working, but I got to meet a lot of people that she’s going with. It was actually kind of fun meeting everybody and the like. The counting out pills into 30s and putting them in little bags…not so much. On a side note, I should be immune to everything for a few days.
I did actually get to hang out with Pam for a while. We took in the Thrashers-Blues hockey game on Saturday. Fun times, and the Blues lost. Hooray. Even though its preseason…I hate me the Blues. We also went to church on Sunday, which was nice.
In other news, I have this feeling that I’m going to snap because of my classes really soon. Its going to happen. Eventually the three years of not learning a damned thing is going to take its toll. I’m getting angrier and angrier at my reporting class. Even the simple assignments I do with disdain. I’m mad at SIU for not teaching anything new, and I’m mad at myself for selecting a second major in something so close to my original.
There’s probably other factors into this feeling too. Its already been kind of a frustrating semester in lots of different avenues. I’m reminded of a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon where Calvin asks for another piece of pie, but isn’t given it. He gets upset and yells at his mom, who says “Things could be worse, Calin.”
Calvin: But things could be a lot better too!
Calvin (sitting in his room): But worse is more likely.
Things could be better, but they could be worse. I really don’t want to get into it, if you’re really curious drop me a line and I’ll see whether or not I want to discuss. It probably depends on the person.
Three things I’ve learned
~The scent of children’s vitamins lingers for a while on your hands after couting 100 of them.
~Except for that giving up 27 points in the 4th quarter, the Seahawks played amazing on Sunday. Did I learn that? Not really, but Seahawks=awesome. Its a law of mathematics.
~Nobody comments anymore. I’m going to start allowing the spammers to comment just so I feel cool.
The fireworks over liberty expode in the heat and it’s your face I’m looking for on every street,
Alan
Thing I’ve learned:
~There is NO leg room in the backseat of a police vehicle. Did not know that!
