Posting to post…part 3

Once again, I have that strange feeling that I have to update Tubasaluki. Maybe I’m hooked on blogging, I don’t know.

Things are going great here in Australia. My floor is currently addicted on Australia’s Big Brother. They tend to ask me how it compares to the American version, but I can’t say I’m much help there.

I must say, the show is really interesting. The mind games that Big Brother plays with the housemates are funny and interesting at the same time. Most of the time its just random housemates either flirting, bitching, or some weird combination of the two with another housemate.

In other news…Australia won the cricket world cup. All bow down to the glory that is Australia. Watching an entire match of cricket is challenging, and I don’t know if its fun. Cricket is a weird game that way. The match was enjoyable (thanks to Adam Gilchrist’s 149) but there were other moments of boredom. Think baseball at a slower pace…but higher scoring.

I have a paper due in two weeks and I have yet to start it. Should be interesting, but I think I can handle it. I’m going to critique technological determinism, I guess. The thing with Uni here is because of the low number of assignments, you get turned off from school. I know I should be working at these things, but I haven’t really gotten into my subjects. Then I remember I’m in Australia and its cool again.

I am missing home a little bit. I actually talked about this with a girl from Sweden the other day and we concluded that what we really miss is the food. Of course, it could be that I miss the conversations with people at Quatro’s over a meateaters and a mug of Amberbock, or I miss making fun of the wrestling fans at B-dubs with my friends. Food is a wonderful thing, as it brings people together. Of course, the food I miss the most is in Carbondale and I won’t be there until August.

I have roughly 50 days left here. Thats scary. I still feel like I just got here. Has it really been two and a half months? The conversations back home are starting the turn towards me shipping things home and the such. Its crazy. This semester has just gone so fast. One things for sure, I’m coming back here someday. It will probably be awhile, but I know I’ll be back again.

Thats about it for now. Got some touch footy to play tonight. Its going to be fun, always is.

Alan

Since cricket matches are longer, that just means you can drink more beer. That’s why the people in the stands at cricket matches are rich: who can afford three days of overpriced beer?

Well, this was one day cricket. So, it was who can afford six hours of over priced beer. When it comes to drinking during cricket, pacing is the name of the game.
