Obscure lyrics…FTW!
I’m back in the Dale, now with Internet. Life is good.
Well, its good unless SIU’s Media Ethics proffesor can’t read his schedule. He believed it to be a Tuesday-Thursday class, the schedule begged to differ. As a result, after 30 minutes of waiting, we were finally told by the school of journalism that we could leave.
This probably shouldn’t bother me as much as it does…but, well, maybe these things happen when MCMA decides to fire teachers that do great jobs and that students like right before they get tenure. Now, the guy who taught this course before, I’ve been told, was a hard teacher whom students disliked. But, given our school’s track record of dealing with good teachers, whose to say that it didn’t play a role in getting a guy who didn’t look at his schedule correctly.
In a related note, most of the people who I tell this story to just say, “Thats SIU for you.” Isn’t that great? A four year institution of higher learning summed up in a story of ineptitude….but at least we’re getting a new football stadium!
In other news, the drive was fun, as it was nice to have some company. Jim said maybe 20 words the whole trip, half of which were ordering food at restauants. In all seriousness, we had a great time, saw some sights, and Pictures will be up…sometime? Trust me, pictures will be up.
I’ve gotten reacquainted with my awesome job. I even have my keys back, which is sweet. I’m a bit rusty with the radio thing, but I’m getting there. I did a little ad libbing on air yesterday, and it worked out well. Oh yes, Southern Illinois, Alan is back.
Well, I’m going to go to class and all that. Maybe there will even be professors there.
There’s no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard,
Alan
I hope you didn’t let Brother Gnome drive. He can’t even see over the wheel!
