Tubasaluki: Quoting music since 2003

So, its been awhile since I’ve ventured onto the Write Post page of my site admin. Its apparently been awhile since I’ve been here period, as there were 996 waiting comments waiting for my massive spam marking.

So, lets see here. The parents came out to celebrate my birthday. Usually I don’t celebrate my birthday, but hey, I’m now 23. We ate some food, did some projects around the house, took some major steps towards me buying my house, and all in all had a grand time.

Then there came this week. It was in a word, interesting.

Monday: Village of Alma board meeting. An audit there turned up some strange findings. The mayor says the audit is wrong. I get the letter that spells out the audit’s findings. Find out later that letter wasn’t supposed to be leaked. Call me a modern day Bob Woodward and this Almagate.

Tuesday: the parentals leave. I sleep in my own bed once again. Touchdown!

Wednesday: Centralia hospital gets Governor’s Award for their Breast and Cervical Cancer program. 10 years of helping women beat cancer. Lots of happy people. One of those happy people: the director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. I thought it was kind of neat to talk to him.

Thursday: I get another letter I’m not supposed to have! The teachers at a local school are pissed because one of their own is getting let go in a slightly not so ethical manner. So, one of the teacher’s drops off the letter that spells out everything here. Call me a modern day Carl Bernstein and this Teachergate. At the board meeting that night, after 5 hours (not a typo…5. 1, 2, 3, 4, FIF) the board decides to rehire the dude. I’m fairly certain the superintendent doesn’t like me because I asked her questions about it. I’m heartbroken.

(that was sarcasm for those of you just tuning in)

Friday: After what ended up being a 12 hour day on Thursday, I decided to sleep in on Friday. I felt it deserved. Though, Friday did see me get to interview John Shimkus, US Representative from Illinois. I thought it was kind of neat. There’s a new farm bill on the way, even if the president vetoes it. The farm bill is likely to anger people around the world because it apparently over subsidizes American farmers.

Saturday: I sleep in way to late for I have nothing to do. Nothing else happened. Except I can’t fall asleep late at night. I get no sleep heading into…

Sunday: morning cast on no sleep was about as fun as your typical kick in the shins. After work, I went home and slept…for 7 hours. Going to bed tonight’s gonna be FUN.

Thats all for now. Hopefully this week is 5 hour meeting free.
