Next goal

On the heels of a fairly productive weekend that saw me clean both the kitchen and the bathroom (and isn’t even over yet!) I have my next goal.

My sister and dad completed the San Diego Marathon today. Now, I don’t know if you recall…but my goal is to run a marathon by the time I’m 30.
. I only mentioned it once, kind of in passing, so likely you’ve forgotten. But, thats my goal.

I sent my sister a congratulatory text message after the race, as it was her first marathon. Dad, meanwhile, is practically a veteran of these things. I think he’s run five.

Not long after I sent the text I got a response. Pam asked if I wanted to run the Seattle Half Marathon. Granted, seeing how the race is run the day after thanksgiving and I’ll be nursing my tryptophan hangover…I said yes. I’ve run it before in what as a not so fun experience. Id love to give it a shot again. Plus, it puts me on a springboard towards completing that marathon by 30 goal real quick.

Since I know I’ll be running the race in November, I figure now is a good time as any to formally announce I have my own running blog. Because, thats what I do. I blog things. So, adjust your bookmarks accordingly…here comes My Sweaty T-shirt.

Its really more of a fitness blog. But, now I have an organized goal, so the site should be a little bit more fun to write and read. I’m still feeling it out, but hopefully it develops into something worthwhile.

Now i’m searching through these carousels and the carnival arcades
searching everywhere from steeplechase to palisades
in any shooting gallery where promises are made to rockaway,

Alan

So…. does that mean you’ll be on the West Coast for Thanksgiving? If so…. SWEET! I wonder if they make a turkey and cranberry flavored clif bar….. They should.

Good luck on your training. I’m sure the second time running 13 miles around Seattle will be better than the first time. No more sprained ankles.

I’ve got my own fitness goals for the summer (I grew a ‘desk job gut’ over the winter) so I will be following your new blog.
